We work directly with skilled makers for our Maison Sunny and Bodebene Brands of products.

Maison Sunny Maker Making lovely baby clothing

These Skilled artisan craftsman and makers are individuals who possess a high level of expertise in a particular craft or trade, and who create functional or decorative items using traditional techniques and tools. These craftspeople often work with textiles and specialise in different  ares such as smocking, weaving, crochet, sewing, embroidery and so on.

They often have a deep respect for the history and tradition of their craft, and may spend years or even decades honing their skills through apprenticeships or self-directed learning. The work of skilled artisan craftsman and makers is highly valued for its quality, uniqueness, and attention to detail, and their creations often become treasured family heirlooms or collector's items.

Maison Sunny works with women to pay fair wage and ethical working conditions. We will update this page to feature some of our wonderful artisan makers.

We find that working directly with women makers can be a powerful way to uplift them from poverty for several reasons. Firstly, it provides women with an opportunity to earn a fair wage for their work and develop valuable skills that can improve their economic prospects. In many parts of the world, women have limited access to education and job opportunities, and working as a maker can be a pathway to financial independence and stability. Secondly, working as a maker can help to build confidence and a sense of empowerment among women, who may have previously felt marginalized or excluded from mainstream society.

Maison Sunny Happy Maker

Finally, supporting women makers can have a positive ripple effect on their families and communities, as they reinvest their earnings into local businesses and services. By investing in women makers and creating sustainable market opportunities for their products, we can help to break the cycle of poverty and support the economic development of communities around the world.
